AFTERCARE AND WHAT TO EXPECT

Hyaluronic Acid Filler and Anti-wrinkle injections

The good news is that non-invasive cosmetic procedures require far less recovery time than traditional cosmetic surgery, and treatments are likely to have little to no impact on your daily routine. 

Whether you have had dermal filler or anti-wrinkle injections, you may experience some slight swelling, bruising and tenderness in the treated area. This is completely normal and should subside within 7-10 days.  Remember we are all different and we all heal differently!

To prepare you for what to expect from your treatment here are a few key points:

Hyaluronic Acid Filler - Your treatment aftercare

In the 24 hour period after any dermal filler treatment, we advise against touching the treated area, we recommend you avoid alcohol, wearing any make-up (including lipstick) around the treated area/s, no strenuous exercise and no contact with direct sunlight.

In the 48 hours following your treatment, please avoid saunas, steam rooms and jacuzzis.

Facial massages should be avoided for a full 2 week period.

We recommend our soothing, anti-inflammatory lip balm “LIP FIX” created by Amica Aesthetics to aid the recovery time of your new lips. It’s packed with healing and anti-bruising agents and together with a hint of pink will add a hydrated and healthy glow.

After having lip fillers your lips will swell approximately 20% over the next 48 hours but will go down over the next 7 days, this is completely normal.

To accelerate the healing process of any dermal filler treatment we recommend using a cool/ice pack, some arnica if you have any bruising and maybe take paracetamol if the treated area feels a little sore.

Your new treatment could take up to 4 weeks to settle and depending on your metabolism it could last up to 18 months!

Anti-wrinkle injections - Your treatment aftercare

In the first 24 hour period we advise you not to fall asleep on your front to allow the anti-wrinkle injections to settle.  Avoid strenuous exercise, bending forwards and applying makeup to the treated area/s.

In the 48 hours following your treatment, we recommend you avoid saunas, steam rooms and jacuzzis.

Injections usually take around 7-10 days for effects to show, and 2 weeks to fully show.  You cannot speed or slow the process down!
