Lip/Dermal fillers (Hyaluronic Acid) injections explained

They are an injectable treatment that will instantly help smooth lines, fine wrinkles and replenish lost volume, therefore creating a more youthful appearance. Made from a naturally occuring substance , hyaluronic acid filler adds volume and decreases wrinkles in one visit, with results typically lasting from 6 to 12 months. HA is found naturally throughout the body, with the highest concentration in the skin, joints and eyes. Once injected into the skin it bonds naturally with your own hyaluronic acid over the next few weeks.

The aim for us as practitioners and our clients is to create a fresh faced version of themselves. Our theory is less is more, creating a natural look which is more pleasing to the eye. The over filled face can look very fake and over done!

 Lip filler, which will plump up the lips creating a younger aesthetic by accentuating contours and outlines. And, as we age it can             lessen both the lines on and around the lips. It is also good for asymmetrical lips, where one side is lower and flatter than the other.

Dissolving Hyaluronic lip acid filler (Hyaluronidase) explained

Hyaluronidase is a soluble protein enzyme that is used to break down the hyaluronic acid found in dermal filler. The solution works by breaking down the bonds that hold the HA molecules together, and encourages the body to reabsorb those molecules in a natural process.

Reasons to dissolve filler:

• Migration (when the filler has moved above lip border which can cause lack of definition) this is usually the case when lips have been over filled (not something we would do or recommend)
• Lumps or unevenness
• If you simply want to get rid of the filler or start from fresh
• We would also use Hyaluronidase in the rare case of a complication (Vascular occlusion)

A patch test is required 30 minutes before the dissolving process to ensure the client does not have an allergic reaction.
